About Dr. Heather Ferlitch, D.C., M.S., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac.

Dr. Heather Ferlitch obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY and obtained her Master's of Science in Acupuncture degree from Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. She has also studied acupuncture at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Hangzhou, China where the primary treatment modality within the hospital is acupuncture. She has completed internships treating both Chiropractic & Acupuncture patients at the Canadaigua, NY Veterans Affairs Hospital. Before attending New York Chiropractic College she graduated from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA where she studied biology.
Dr. Ferlitch is certified in Selective Functional Motion Assessment (SFMA) which is utilized to assess your movement. She combines SFMA with Neurokinetic Therapy to determine the WHY of pain. She embraces a practice style that is always asking why, why are you having the pain that your are having? Often, many people who have pain, the source of their pain is not always where the pain is. Therefore, she will look to other areas of the body to determine the source of your pain. This allows you to remain pain free longer as well as allowing you to take an active role in your health to prevent that same pain from coming back. She is also certified in Kinesiology Taping which helps provide stabilization while allowing your full range of motion.
Dr. Ferlitch is a certified licensed acupuncturist by the Pennsylvania Board Medical Examiners and certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCOAM). She also holds a Certificate in Clean Needle Technique. Dr. Ferlitch has been trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM focuses on your entire body as a whole and how your body's systems are working together. In addition to acupuncture, Dr. Ferlitch is trained in and utilizes adjunctive acupuncture techniques such as moxa, cupping, and tui na.
Dr. Ferlitch is currently working on an extensive training to become a certified Sports & Orthopedic Acupuncturist. While she enjoys treating a vast variety of conditions, her passion is working on athletes, injuries, and pain. She embraces the challenge of getting those back to their sport as soon as possible and having the body function truly at its optimum through chiropractic & acupuncture.
